S8 + - When making a call, does your screen dim after 2-5 seconds, then go completely black?

I have switched all the settings and run different options from automatic brightness, adaptive display, power save mode, optimized the phone and battery.

Whenever I make a call , the screen will dim after 2-5 seconds and then go completely black. I then have to hit the power button to see the display (keypad) and the screen is still dim.

Thought / ideas?

Restore the phone - I had the same problem and restored the phone to factory after a backup.
Works fine for me!
