S8+ won't recognize my truck

I have a 2016 Silverado and my old s6edge would display on the screen in my truck but then it updated and stopped working. Bluetooth works fine but the truck say its not compatible and the phone says it doesn't recognize a usb connection even though it's charging. I did take the truck to chevy and had them do an update but that wasn't it. Now I got my new S8+ and it's doing the same. Anyone else having these issues?

My VW Passat had the same issue, previously had the S7 edge connected. I factory reset the phone settings on the car and was able to add my S8 + after that.
