The subject said it all :)

Tried out both the xs and the xs Max for a week, then returned and staying with my S9+.

The S9+ wifi and mobile network reception are much much better/faster than the new iPhones. Not to mention some apps crashed. However, the quality and feel are awesome. If Android can do swipe like iOS, then I think Android will steal a lot of iPhone users.

Anyone come back to the S9 after tried out the iPhone?

People who want more privacy, data protection will get iPhone.
People who want 6 year's of update cycle will get iPhone.
People who want the best ecosystem will get iPhone.

Unless your living under a rock.
You should know iPhone gets 5 to 6 years of Major updates.

For example Galaxy S9 and Note 9 only get 2 major updates.

If you look at iPhone 5S a phone that came out in 2013 still getting major updates in year 2018.

Yeah it gets updated to newer iOS but it doesn't have the newer features, probably not going to run great compared to newer iPhones above it .
Security? Its safer then ,Google or Samsung? I haven't had security issues on any of my phones .
So what I'm trying say is just because it gets updates still dont mean you'll have the best experience with it .

Everyone should know Google is a advertising company so they need your data and your privacy.
That's how Google makes money.

If your not bothered about privacy or data
If your not bothered about 6 years of Major updates.
If your not bothered about best ecosystem then get Android.
Simple as !!!!!

Well, i did change from iPhone 7 Plus to S8 Plus before. The few problems i had was.

1.sending files(i know i can use sendit or whatever but it's a hassle)
2.there was no wireless charging(i want my port to last, i have OCD)
3.the silent toggle(as i am OCD i do not want a toggle as it collects dust, as no case covers that part and leaves it open)

Re: S9+ > iPhone xs Max > xs > S9+

I use both ecosystems and his three listed items are not entirely untrue.

Especially on the update part. iPhones get updates far beyond Android devices. I am generally updating my Android quicker than my iPhone for that very reason. Also there is no comparison in terms of resale value. This is a big plus to owning an iPhone. Year later and you still get very good dollar for it whereas my Samsung's take a hit. The plus to Android is the ability to customize, iOS is way too locked down.
LOL, sure.

Edited - Wording.

People say Apple is over priced, this and that.
but ignore Apple long time update cycle.
ignore Apple local store's. that most Android OEM don't have.
getting rid of the chin makes the phone cost more. which android phone's are struggling to get rid of.

They are very overpriced, especially the latest phones but I've always said the post sale customer service and support you get from Apple is second to none and worth something. I have an issue with my phone or need to get a replacement through Applecare+ I either go in a store and walk out a half hour later with my new phone or call and have one shipped out express next day. They put a hold on my card until I return the other. No issues. I tend to baby my Samsung phones a lot more because based on my experience dealing with Samsung is an absolute nightmare.

yes true...Samsung Galaxy X foldable Phone maybe cost £1800
i know Android phone's going win at the end of the day. Mother Google, SkyNet going to WiN.
look at Pocophone F1 £270 ~
Honor Play £270 ~
Xiaomi and Huawei, Oppo, Vivo cost 3 or 4 times less then iPhone XS Max
most people want a bargain. especially Indian and China.

UK, US can easily get expensive phone by 2 or 3 year contract

Erm. Apple customer service for Indonesia is a total mess. In Indonesia Samsung has best customer service.(i did go to the CS to get my phone fixed, 2 days later and it was like brand new) Apple in Indonesia is nonsense. Months just to get lcd replaced. And sometimes the lcd isnt even original...

Not my experience with Samsung and I've had 2 warranty items. Both very quick and they've gone above and beyond. I had the vertical line down the screen of my GS7. Not only did they replace the screen, they replaced the battery and the home button. And this was a week out of warranty. Super quick turnaround too. Had an issue with my Icon-X 2018 edition. Again, they provided the return label, sent it in. They had a new pair out to me in less than a week from when I shipped the defective ones in.

I've been purchasing more and dealing with Samsung direct more than other retailers because the experience has just been fantastic. I'm even buying my phones direct through them for the past 2 devices (I switch out yearly). I can't complain about anything since I've switched to Samsung from LG.

People can have good and bad experiences with the same two companies in different parts of the world.
I am in USA.

Apple has been good to me a lot of times. Apple also was absolutely horrible in swapping out my iPhone 7 purchased full price on launch day. Took me 5 visits for them to finally acknowledge the issue and give me a new device a week before the factory warranty ran out.

I have had to contact Samsung only once. Sent in my device via mail. About 4 days later a shiny new Note 5 arrived via FedEx.

So everyone can have a unique experience, it just depends on the issue, the CS rep etc etc.

I went back to the Note 9 after trying the iPhone XS Max. I paid the full retail price for the 512GB version and there was just too many things wrong with it. It wouldn't charge when the screen was off. It had weak cell/WiFi reception. It doesn't come with a headphone jack dongle and it doesn't have fast charging.

But hey, I should just expect to live with all that because those problems don't exist. *eye roll*

Most of us here upgrade our phones multiple times per year so that argument is bunk.

With respect, can we get some clarity on whether you have an iPhone XS Max or not? I remain confused.

On September, 27th you stated you returned it to Best Buy and felt stupid for spending the money you did on it. Then in the following days you actively posted about it, including your charging issues on iMore. I was reading through threads here on Android Central and noticed you wording yourself as if you no longer had one but the posts on iMore contradicted that. It confused me so I made mention of it here in another thread and you said you decided to hold onto it and that you had until Saturday to decide (14 day window). Here in the quote above you posted negatively about it, again speak as if you do not own one but yesterday on iMore you posted about the display on your XS Max?

Can you clarify, do you or do you not have an XS Max? Talking so negatively about it yet still owning it and actively posting about it on iMore is confusing. And doesn't make much sense. If you feel that negatively about it why have you not returned it? And, if you have, why do you continue to post on iMore as if you still own one?

I am not sure how to take your views/critique on either phone knowing this. It's SUPER confusing LOL.
