So I have a pre and I'm waiting for contract to be up so i can upgrade to the EVO. I've been following this phone since it was first talked about. I wanted it ever since.

My wife get so annoyed cause I bring it up all of the time.

So, Saturday night I decided to take the family to an outdoor movie they were showing at a nearby park (Back to the Future). It was great up until my wife nudges me and says "doesn't that boy over there have the phone you want so bad". I look over and sure enough this 12-year old has the EVO right there in his puny little hand. I said to my wife "Yes and thanks for showing me that" and she goes with "Awe you poor baby". :(

lol whats the world coming to when 12yr olds not only have phones but smart phones at that

Or...if you're a gamer and don't like the 30 fps cap, you might get a Galaxy S Pro! Lol, sorry, that was just on my mind from the last post I just answered.

What a coincidence, I actually saw a lot of Evos this weekend starting Friday night on the subway (the E in nyc), then at a bar in the west village someone asked if my g/f and I had the new "E.V.O.", later that night on the way home a guy on the train was playing a game (even with the 30fps cap) on his Evo right in front of us.

Yay Evo.

XR4TI I feel your pain but I got ya beat man, they aren't selling the EVO in my market yet because the towers here are owned by a 3rd party company that is being tools and won't sell the phone tell they reach some agreement with sprint. Anyways I contacted corporate and they said I could still buy the phone online and activate it so I bought it only to find out that they lied and I can't activate it until the local company that owns the towers reachs an agreement with sprint to carry the phone so now i basicly have a expensive paper weight lol at least it looks good lol

Hah, I know you from PreC.
That avatar doesn't lie. :)

Anyway, if you did game on your Pre and want to on your Evo... consider the Galaxy S Pro. It got 55.7 fps on Neocore (benchmark for GPU), and other phones get around 25 fps (including Evo, N1, Inc, yeah...)
This is just a warning because I got the Evo only to realize that the Adreno GPU inside Snapdragons need heavy optimization from games.

Exzeus Arcade, one of the best games on Android, runs on the Snapdragon family only because it was made by the Native Development Kit and is heavily optimized.
Otherwise, Gameloft games won't be that great. I got an e-mail basically saying "we'll forward this to the right department"... so I don't know if they'll even consider what I said.

Also, the screen doesn't support as many colors as the Pre. It looks a tad washed out in comparison, but the screen size doesn't disappoint.

Otherwise, almost everything else seems to be better. I got good build quality, and the user interface isn't as bad as everyone says. You can easily get used to it, even though you'll find yourself swiping a lot at first.

I haven't seen one out of the Sprint store the first day. There were like lots of people buying them.

They didnt necessarily lie to you... just change your area code and number

Actually they did lie because I have an email from a rep in Dan Hesse's office stating that I could purchase the phone and activate it with my current number so yes they did lie. They offered the work around of changing my phone number to a different state number but to me that is not an option nor a work around I have way to many clients that know my number and I have had it forever I'm not willing to give my number up and have to recontact everyone and explain why I now have a new out of state number that would just be dumb.

So then tell them to give u a new line and number and then have 2 lines open to forward ur new number to... except tell them to give u a month or 2 free for inconviences

I haven't seen an Evo in the wild yet. Rest assured that if I did, I would be bombarding that person with millions of requests and questions. I am an annoying bastard.

Well funny you mentioned that. My wife felt bad after some of her comments and said to me "I bet you could take him". Thanks for the confidence in me being able to take a 12 year old. She said she meant the i could take him and his two buddies.

My 11 year-old grandson is crazy about mine. I was visiting him last night and he loves the big screen, the games, (Asphalt 5) the video capabilities, and a whole lot more.

Not sure I'd get him one, or recommend his parents give him one, but he sure knows what to do with it...

No. I live in West Michigan. That movie make me miss the 80's.
Oh wow, crazy that they were doing an outdoor BTTF viewing there and here during the same week. An anniversary or something for it?

PS, I LOVE my EVO :) You will too!!
