I switched from an iPhone 3g to an OG Droid a couple of years back.
Then I went through the following devices:
Droid 2, Droid X, Thunderbolt
Nook Color, Acer Iconia A500
The Thunderbolt got NO reception in my building whereas my friends' iPhone 4 had no problem... and I was on my 5th Verizon replacement. The first four had so many weird problems -- yellow screen, random reboots, random shutdown, random battery drain (with 4G on, my extended battery would drain in about 3-4 hours from 100% to 0%.) So I finally gave up and switched to Apple. It's been pretty much flawless.
But at least I still had the Nook Color. It got CM7.
I traded up the NC to an Acer A500. It got rooted.
But then my girlfriend got sick of the Acer and gave me an iPad for Christmas.
So now I have no more Android devices at home.
One day I'll switch back... one day.
See you guys again soon.
