Don't know if anyone knows of this, but last night I was watching Twig (This Week in Google) a show on Leo LaPorte's Twit network This Week in Google 156 | TWiT.TV
Towards the end of each week's episode, they have a tool and tips section. Kevin Purdy who is a Lifehacker editor and Android enthusiast (he is sometimes on Twit's All About Android Tuesday show), was a guest. He had a tool that JB users can use to troubleshoot their JB device.
There is a way to place your Jelly Bean device (it will only work on 4.1 or later) in safe mode, like Windows safe mode, it will only load the core apps and processes.
Press the power button like you would if you are going to power down your device, when the window on the screen comes up asking if you want to Power Down, go into Airplane mode, etc. Press and hold the Power Off option on the screen (not the physical power button), you will then get a prompt asking if you want to reboot into safe mode.
This is new, first appearing in JB.
