The place where I work does not allow Cell Phones. They also don't have lockers in which to leave my phone. The question i have is, is it safe to leave it in my car at all temps? I assume at some point it's just too hot for this(I live in FL) but where would that cutoff be? It's already gotten as high as 86 here. So figure easily 90+ in the car. I do always make sure to put it inside the glovebox so it can't be in direct sun. I really don't want to start leaving it at home, because i like to have it with me on the drive to and from work, but that may become necessary. Also are there temps too low for leaving it in safely(not that that's gonna be much of a problem around here)?

I live in SC and have had mine overheat while being left in the car for 45 minutes within the last couple of months. One time the GPS was left running and the other time nothing was. I wouldn't leave it in the car for too long, especially come May!

I never leave anything running because I always power it down completely to leave it in the car would this make a difference?

Absolutely! If you power the phone down completely before you leave it in a hot car, it should be fine. As long as the electronics aren't making additional heat (which they do when the phone is On) you should be fine.

I would still want to leave the phone out of direct sunlight (and the eyes of thieves) by putting it in the glovebox or console.

Maybe even pick up a small insulated bag to keep it in while in your glove box

Crack a window. Car doesn't get early as hot. And use a windshield screen.

I live in the Arizona Desert. I routinely leave mine in my car for a couple hours at a time here with no problems so far.

Main things are keep it out of direct sunlight. I have had things warped/ruined in sunlight here. But everything out of the sun stays OK.
