Safest and bulkiest cover for S8?

[Android Central Question]

Just got a brand new S8, only problem: I'm a dropper, and I'm friggin terrorized by the drop tests i'm seeing, so I decided i'm getting the bulkiest and strongest cover on the market.
Which one should I get? I don't care about its shape or its form, I just need the safest case money can buy.

Welcome to Android Central.

I suggest the Otterbox Defender or Pelican Voyager. Substantial cases that offer great protection. I've used both and recommend them. Thanks.

My son has an Otterbox Defender on his S8.

He dropped his phone a few weeks ago and shattered the front near the lower right corner. It hit the tile floor almost completely face down.

That's the biggest problem with the curved edge. The way they have to lower the side lips of any case to account for it leaves the sides the most vulnerable in any drop.

I have an S8 too, and other than the fact that it looks cool, I've grown to absolutely hate the curved edges.

Bottom line, unless you have one of those flip cover type cases, you gotta be careful.
