So I have a phone that was water damaged by saltwater from a tanker truck which corroded the insides a little including eating one of the nubbys off that charges the battery. This is a phone I purchased off Swappa in like new condition RECENTLY so I desperately want to save this phone if I can because it obviously doesn't have any warranty being a used phone... cleaned it all up switched to a newer battery because the old one was toast and put a piece of tinfoil inside to make contact just to see if I could get some juice- well it wouldn't turn on, however if I plug it in the screen comes on and I wish I could post a picture to show you, but there is a picture of a rectangle that looks like the shape of a phone with the cord attached at the bottom and in the lower right hand corner there is a triangle with a ? symbol... So I know you are likely going to tell me that my phone is toast... but I am hoping someone tech savvy can point me in the direction of replacing internal parts at a reasonable price or possibly even helping me reset the phone to make it work or something... This phone was not rooted or anything it was legit AT&T software on a cricket pre-pay plan not that I am sure that makes any difference... but any help on this is appreciated even if it isn't the answer I want.

Thanks

There is not much you can do for water damage, especially salt water damage. It's useless to even try replacing parts at this point because in the end you will probably end up spending more on the parts than a new device. The fact you have to use TinFoil to get a connection is like putting a penny in the fuse box in place of a fuse. There is some massive damage, and I would consider it beyond repair.
The fact you are getting the screen you are getting is most likely because the internal storage was damage by the sale water as well.
Take the loss, and don't waster more money than you need to on parts
Just my opinion based on your situation
