It might have the same physical dimensions, however evo 3D's will be a higher capacity.

I believe the battery capacity of the EVO3D will be 1750mah....the EVO 4g is 1500mah.
Plus i think the EVO3D will offer better battery life overall due to the dual core

would you b able to use the same extended battery or will it mess up the phone?

If it is the same dimensions, then it should be fine to use, though the battery door won't work if you have one of the huge extended batteries. I doubt we will know for sure until more people actually get it in their hands to play with though.

Actually, if the same reasoning applies from computers, more cores=more power draw

Technically due to computers and technology, yes it does have a minor amount more than a single core processor. But because it's dual-core then it will multitask better and increase battery life more than a single-core would.

Only under heavy workload. The usual reasoning for dual cores consuming less power is that they don't have to run at full throttle to get stuff accomplished quicker and this is all supposed to work out to decreased battery consumption.

Based on all the tear down pics so far, the 3D's battery looks bigger than the EVO 4G. I wouldn't count on it working or fitting if I were you.

yea, i bet htc and sprint lost a chunk of change when hero users started using their old batteries in their evos...
