I bought a Samsung S3 at Sams and got the Squaretrade $99 warranty.
One thing that made me get it there was the feature where Squaretrade will buy your phone for 50% of its original list price ($698) at 12 months, and 20% at two years. It has to be in very good condition.
The next day we looked at Costco and the SqTr plan there did not have that feature, and it was $30 more for the Costco renewal on Sprint than at Sams.
So as I see it, you could do an early termination and sell the phone for the penalty...or go to two years and pretty much pay for the next phone.
