Nexus S, Infuse and S2. Which is likely to be announced? All, a combination of the 3 or just grand-daddy S2 itself? Normally these kinds of events yell "look at me" with a flagship device (minus the Sprint/Kyocera lol). This is a quote from pocketnow today.."Samsung's recent trademark filings give us some clue as to what a Galaxy S II on AT&T might be called. We've seen the company move to secure the names Attain, Function, and Within. Just which, if any, will become the name for the smartphone in the States is anyone's guess for now. We also may have seen signs that this phone just passed Wi-Fi Alliance certification, as the SGH-I927. The config docs Samsung hosts for this model make it look like a strong contender for a North American Galaxy S II." Add this to the fact we already know what bands the S2 is using outside of U.S. What do you guys think?

It doesn't make any sense to release something other than the Samsung Galaxy II. Anything else would be pure fail.

Holding an entire event just to announce the Infuse would be a waste of time considering the line up of devices that AT&T is laready offering, a Nexus S is very unlikely as well, the S2 really seems to be the front runner here. The UK version alreadyuses ATT's bands, and as mentioned above there were FCC filings for an S2 that uses ATT bands as well.

I'm going to have to jump on the Galaxy SII bandwagon as well. It's a pretty spectactular device that deserves this type of announcement and I think it will get it.

Galaxy series moving forward will be the premier Android device to own. It will cut into iPhone sales as well. Just my opinion orcourse with some speculation thrown in but I see Samsung moving to the forefront once this handset hits the US. Not to mention the G3 is going to be one heck of a device.

I just may become a Samsung fanboy : )

OK not a fanboy but a huge supporter : )

It'll likely cut into Verizon sales as well unless VzW has its LTE version -- which would be a little fatter than the GSM GS2 -- coming out over the summer.

Is it possible that the Infuse is the AT&T version of the GS2 like the Captivate is the GS version. Nothing on the Infuse page says anything about it being a single core. I admit it says it is 4.5 inches

At CES, the Samsung rep that introduced the Infuse 4G indicated it was a 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor. He could have been mistaken, but who knows? Most phones are produced a year ahead of launch so that the makers can let the carriers sample their wares, so anything is possible...

Hopefully it isn't the Infuse though, I'll have to take another sigh of patience if it is. I'm hoping for nothing short of them celebrating Cinco de Mayo with Mariachis, tequila and a giant pi?ata in the middle of the room that gets bashed until spilling out a quantity of S2's with candy wallpapers on screen... planning brought to you by the same guy that thought of the S2 commercial with the girl dropping the phone in her fishbowl. Hahaa

AT&T and Samsung will never have an event that will not flop like the Sprint Kyocera Echo. First, it was last years processor and memory but the second part is that it was one device.

There will be several new devices unveiled.

Expect the Nexus S 4G, Infuse, Galaxy S II, and the Samsung 8.9 and 10.1 Tablets.

The tablets are just going through FCC approvals now so they may be available almost immediately.

I think the Infuse will definitely be there, and maybe the Tabs. I'm not so sure about the S2, I think that will be the Samsung event later this month.

AT&T will never sell the Nexus S on contract. I would love to see it, but AT&T won't sell an Android with sideloading enabled and no bloatware anytime soon.

Of course, we could all be wrong and this could be a WP7 thing :p

Galaxy S II just passed FCC with ATT bands. I think we have a winner!!

I will definately be trying this bad boy out.

The international version has those bands too, so they could have just been approving that for use here.

Sent from my Captivate

Mehh, cheers to the daily grind and time killers fellas. I wasn't too enthused about the Infuse news today other than the fact that I can go in on the 15th and see what a super amoled+ screen Looks like lol. I'm just keeping fingers crossed that the 24th will bring light to the end of the tunnel and not just be an event for the galaxy tabs and the 4/5 inch wifi only "iPod killers" that Sammy has yet to showcase here.
