Samsung book cover case causing Tab to shut down?

So yesterday i picked up the Book cover case for my Tab 10.1. I love it, fits well, etc as should be expected.

But something weird seems to be happening now, and I don't know if it's just coincidence, or if the case is causing it.


At one point I had the case closed, and then opened it up again, pressed the power button to kick on the screen, and....... nothing. I knew it wasn't the battery as it was around 85%. But just to be sure I plugged it in again, but this time there was no screen showing the recharge icon like there normally is.

After some googling, i found out others have had this issue, and the way to fix it is to hold the power button down for around 15 seconds. I did this, and voila, the machine powered back up, and all was fine.


A little while later, with the case closed again, the same thing happened.

This has never happened before I started using the case, so I was wondering if somehow the case was holding the power button down when I close it sometimes, and this puts the tab into some kind of deep sleep mode? Does anyone know?

I'm not home so can't expermient, and only thought of this on my way into work today.........


Does anybody else have this problem, and if so, is your tab in a case, or does this just appear to be a random coincidence?

Have the case, but don't have the problem.

well, the case is causing it by pressing the power button down when the flap is closed.

I've experimented, and can say 100% that's what's happening. Other's online are saying the same thing.

I love the case, but man, you'd think Samsung would have designed it a bit better.......

I have a Tab 3 10.1 and have had the book case since I got mine a couple months ago. Had absolutely no issue at first, but now in the past month mine keeps kicking me back to the home page when I go into an app. Am trying to find out why and have seen quite a few other posts from people having the same issues.
