Samsung Calendar

My Note 8 is my first Samsung. I've been giving Samsung apps a try vs. the Google equivalents and I've actually liked them. One thing about the Samsung Calendar that may have me going back to Google is the "location" field when entering in a new calendar event. In Google Calendar, I would start entering in the name of the business and it would pop up every time. In the Samsung Calendar, when I start typing it doesn't bring up the correct entries. If I tap on map then search from there it rarely finds the business. Instead, I see it giving me some options that are no where near where I'm at, even other countries! Am I doing something wrong? Does it only work with actual addresses as opposed to business names?

100% I also have this problem. What is that map app that it opens? It's not Google.maps. It's like it has its own built in map, and it's awful.

The location field is pretty much useless. The reason I started using Samsung Calendar was because of the widget. I like how it's transparent and has a "+" shortcut to quickly add a new entry. I wish Google would add that little shortcut to their widget.

I figured out how to use it although it's not as intuitive as Google Calendar. Just type the business name into the location field and save your entry. If you open up the entry again it will have a "Find on map" link. Tap on that and it searches and opens up the business location in Google Maps. I still don't know the point of the "Map" link when adding your entry as it's pretty much useless.

I love the Google Calendar widget better. And yes, I love the Note 8 a lot but this is what causes me to like my Pixel 2 XL even more...no "Samsung Apps" to get in the way. (and that's not dogging Samsung, I just wish we could totally disable and hide their apps on the phone.)

Samsung Calendar Location Issues

Surely, this should work intuitively like Son and the rest of us want it to work.

WHY DO I HAVE TO EXPLICITLY PUT THE ADDRESS IN LOCATION ON SAMSUNG CALENDAR?

ALL OF US BELOW HAVE THE SAME ISSUES.

SOMEONE OUT THERE KNOWS THE ANSWER.

I want the lication field to be a seemless interface to Google Maps.

In the location field I want to use standard Google Map queries like

● type in a name

•If the name or key word is found in my contacts then the address is suggested from that contact entry

•if the name or key word is not found in my contacts then a "near me" query using my location is used and a suggestion list pops up

HELP, please!
