I am sorry to hear your bad experience with Seidio. I had a case for my Blackberry Bold that they replaced 3 times because when removing the case to do battery pulls, The top half would develop cracks. They finally offered me a Innocase 360 for my Bold 9000. I have always bought directly from Seidio and I did not even know there was a certain warranty period. They have always been very helpful.
Which company has better products and customer service in your opinion?
Not if your 5 days out of warranty. I had a Seidio case for my Tilt. It was poor quality and they weren't interested in replacing it when the second one failed for the same reason as the first.
There are other brands that are better and other vendors that give better customer service.
