Samsung Cloud and Verizon

I used the Samsung Smart Switch app to migrate stuff from previous phone to this Verizon Note 9. This app also has backup and restore functions.

So, is the cloud better than smartswitch? ie, will it carry over passwords for a true backup and restore function?

Or is it only better for the background backups?

Any particular reason that it is better than Google backups if it does not do the above?

I had to go into Accounts > Samsung Account > Services > Samsung Cloud to get it turned on. It then offered to add a shortcut to my apps screen.

Found it this way. Thanks!
I had a file in there from an S4 from 2015.
