Samsung ends security updates for the Note 10

Pretty sad. Personally, I'd still use the Note 10+ regardless if I still had it. It's too good of a phone!

I've got a Note 10+. I still use it because the new phones give me headaches. But with no security updates I'm going to get a new phone and use it sparingly. There is too much there to roll the dice on a phone that is not secure.

How dodgy is it without security updates? There are mixed views online. I'm using a note 10. Brilliant phone. I love its size and weight - not like carrying round a tablet! And I have been using a stylus for 30 years - since the days of the Palm5. Can't do without it. Some say "get a new phone". However manufacturer updates are sometimes only for about 3 years for a new phone. So then I would be back where I started. I resent paying a grand for a new phone, when this old beast does all I want it to. Others say "don't be paranoid. You won't get hacked!" The other option is a custom ROM. But some of them have no security updates either!
I have Norton on it, and avoid dodgy apps & websites. So am I paranoid?

Agreed... Even the part about the Palm5! I'm not concerned about security updates at all. Be aware of where you are connected and be online savy. Standard procedure everyone should know by now. Also keep in mind that I have had surprise security updates on devices many years past their expiration date. If there is any really serious issues they will send out an update regardless of the device update schedule.
