This would be the first time using affirm. I've always used the TD Bank thru Samsung financing.

How does affirm work? I went thru the process and selected the zero interest, but it asked for my credit card for subscriptions which I didn't get any. On the order page it shows my card and affirm is below it. I went to the affirm app and it shows Samsung purchase as pending order, with the monthly payments listed by due date.

So, what's paying for the order, my credit card or affirm? Also, can I pay it off early if I want to, which I will do to get the fold 7.

Any experiences with affirm, good, bad, run?? Samsung should have just left us with TD Bank IMO.

Affirm in the States appears to be a little different than in Canada, but we can make manual payments in addition to the scheduled payments, enabling the contract to be paid off early. I've done that with most of mine.

It's a buy now, pay later financial institution. Never used them, but the way they work is they pay directly Samsung for your purchase and Samsung pays them small amount to cover your interest free x-number of months' payments. It allows you to spread your purchase out over x-number of months with not interest vs. paying the full amount in one big hit. I remember reading the do also offer longer payment plans but might charge you interest.

The credit card I would assume is how you will pay the monthly payments to Affirm or probably could change it to an auto withdrawal from you check/savings account.

I did note Samsung showed a link to Klarna which is also a buy now, pay later but based in one of the Scandinavian countries.

These companies do help retailers to sell products to people who do not have the needed cash on hand, CC limit won't cover it, or just want to take advantage of a zero interest loan.

I've always purchased using my Visa that is paid off monthly so I can collect my reward points. :)

I did the Affirm payment too.
I chose the 18‐month term.
I have used them before and they are very easy to work with.
Get the Affirm app to do the easy payments.

I had Samsung finance also so I went with affirm.

You will need a credit or debit card or bank account info to have them withdraw monthly payments as they already paid Samsung if qualified.
You have zero interest as with Samsung finance and can pay the full amount anytime and not get penalized.
Where it gets dicey if you don't trade in your device then they can charge you the full amount as Samsung will report it to them and possibly be with Interest.

The credit card for subscription is used if you're trading in a device...its used as a backup payment if the trade in device isn't received they'll charge whatever the trade in amount is on the credit card you put on file.

I have been using Affirm for purchases for more than a year. I even purchased some of the stock at the end of 2023 when they were awarded a partner ship with Amazon. They are great for buying now pay later as an option. Payment plans can be every 2 weeks to monthly on purchases. Definitely reliable.

I've been using Affirm for years. Bought my wife's Peloton bike and treadmill and some pool stuff from Ledge Lounger (all with no interest) and it is one of the easiest financing options I've used. Just set it to Autopay and forget it and make additional payments if you want to pay the loan off sooner, which I usually do with mobile devices.
