Why is my battery draining without using it i sleep with 90% and i woke up with 0% ps it my new galaxy please help??

Did you update recently? Sometimes updates are fine, other times they cause problems.

Back up your device to Samsung Cloud, Smart Switch, or your provider of choice, then do a factory reset if this occurred after the update.

To my knowledge, and I admit I am no expert, this should not damage your battery.

Welcome to Android Central! It would help to see some battery stats, since there are many reasons why battery might be draining (like a rogue app, or poor cell signal). Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Same thing is happening to me this week with my Moto Z play. I used to be able to go several days between charges and now I have to charge it every night. Is there an easier way to find which update is causing it? Does a factory reset erase everything? Such a bummer because now I don't want to update anything anymore.

I have the same issue. Not sure what it could be since its been like this since day 1. I've just excepted that this is what to expect from Samsung devices. I still carry my iPhone 7 so I'm good.

See post 4 above. Something is not right. Have an S8+ & have zero issues with the battery.

So I reset the phone and OMG it is a world of a difference. My battery doesn't drain nearly as fast as it did before! Thanks for the tip.
