Samsung Galaxy Centura - Getting it into Safe Mode

My Samsung Galaxy keeps freezing...I put it into safe mode last week and had to turn it off while in safe mode not I can not get it back in to safe mode. I want to get all of my phone numbers out of the directory because I am giving up on this phone and getting another one but I need some number from it.
HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome back! On Samsung devices, the procedure is usually to press and hold Power until you see the Samsung logo appear, then release Power and then press and hold Vol Down until the lockscreen or homescreen appears. It should be in Safe Mode now.
