Samsung Galaxy Centura hangs on start-up

[AC Question]

When I power-on, my Galaxy Centura vibrates, displays the Tracfone Wireless logo, and plays the startup tune, then it freezes.

I have replaced the battery, tried startup without the SD card, directly rebooted from the menu.

I hesitate to reset for fear of loosing the data that I've built up, as well as contacts. Any suggestions? Or is a new phone in my future?

Welcome to Android Central! Chances are that there's a problem with either the firmware or the motherboard. I'm not sure if there's much you can do at this point. Is the phone still under warranty? And were your contacts and other data synced with your Google account, or only locally saved?
