Re: Samsung Galaxy Discover; Moving downloaded app to home screen

Welcome to Android Central! Open your App Drawer (i.e., tap the icon that looks like a grid of dots in the Favorites Tray at the bottom of the homescreen), look for the app, long-press it, then drag to the homescreen.

What you're describing is what you usually do to add a widget to the homescreen (which is different from an app shortcut).

Thanx 4 the answer, but it is now in downloads, not the app drawer. How do I get it there?:-

What app are you trying to install, and from where are you installing it? It's best to install directly from Google Play Store, which handles the whole installation procedure--there's no need to download anything yourself.

Avoid downloading apk installer files from filesharing sites, because (1) there's a much higher chance of malware, and (2) filesharing sites promote piracy.
