Samsung Galaxy Grand Slow Performance after JB 4.2.2 upgrade.

Hello all,

I have upgraded my Galaxy Grand Duos I-9082 from Jelly bean 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 and the phone hangs randomly. on 4.1.2 it was working truly commendable. I appreciate if anybody can help on this issue and give me tips to do away with the slow performance.

Hello, Google has launched a 61 MB update to do away with the phone problem. I have upgraded that and now the phone works awesome

I have used JB 4.2.2 for GT-I9082, but it's fine so far.

Hey All,
I too had a lot of problems and fed of trying a lot. As per Samsung Executive, the binary does not get updated with the version / update / upgrade patches. This is a universal problem with Samsung Android Devices. Esp. galaxy grand I-9082 devices. hence, I went to the Samsung Service Center and they updated my software. Now the device work awesome. I would suggest to go to Samsung Service Center.

If in warranty: Free software update
If out of warranty: 150 INR

Has anyone checked the Gallery app?
This one bloats up every few days, after the 4.2.2 update and slows the phone down to a crawl. Clearing the cache and data did help for a little while. The phone became quick again. But the gallery app keeps caching data and again slows down the phone.

Remedy:
1. Install Quickpic from the Playstore and use it as an alternative (like to mention - this app doesn't download your Facebook and Google+ pics like the gallery app, but its very fast for the pics on your phone. You can try any other app that you like)
2. Went into Settings > Application manager > Gallery > Cleared the cache and data > Disabled the app.

It's been long since I made the above changes and I have not seen any lag as yet.
