Samsung Galaxy J3 Weird SD Card Problems

So for my birthday (the 19th) I got a Samsung Galaxy J3, and I noticed it only has 16gb of storage, so I popped the back off and put a 32gb micro sd card from my tablet in it. The problem is, that it shows up as recognized but won't give me an option to transfer apps into it or see the usual graph of apps and files in it. It might be because of the SD not being meant for the device, but it should in theory considering it's a normal gold 32gb Samsung card from Best Buy. And yes I have formatted the card.

Do you mean that if you go to the App Manager and select an app, you don't see an option to move the app to SD? Check multiple apps--if none of them have the option, then the phone most likely doesn't support the option to move apps to SD. Not all phones do.

Are you able to save files to the card (like photos or music files)?

I am able to put files in the card such with a file manager, but looking closer at the applications tab, it seems as if there's not as many settings. And yes I have tried multiple apps. Now that I know this phone doesn't do that, It'll save me some money knowing it's the phone and not the SD card.

I have a similar problem. One of the main reasons that I purchased this phone is because it supports an sd card, but now it won't even take one. I have tried several different cards. The first card was a new Samsung EVO 32GB sd card. It worked great for about a month, then my phone began malfunctioning. It would only show a blank home screen and wouldn't function. After restarting and powering down my phone a few times, I was finally able to pull up my settings for a few seconds before it malfunctioned again. I had to keep restarting over and over before I was able to unmount my sd card. My phone stopped malfunctioning immediately after unmounting the sd card.
I thought that it was just a bad sd card, so I ordered a Transcend 64GB sd card. It only worked for two weeks before doing the same thing. I then used my old SanDisk 32GB sd card. It worked great for about a week, then my phone began unmounting then remounting the sd card many times a day. I tried taking the card out and spraying the card slot with compressed air, but it didn't work. That card began malfunctioning again, so I had to take it out. At least I was able to back up all my new sd card data to the cloud before it began malfunctioning again.
So now, I have no external memory storage and very limited internal storage space. I just bought this phone at Best Buy a little over two months ago, so I'm going to call Samsung to replace my phone. I am pissed.

I am unable to move my photos, mp4 and mp3 files successfully along with my apk files. I have a 265gb micro SD card.
