Samsung Galaxy J7 Rear Camera Not Focusing

Hello ac, I'm having a problem with my rear camera not focusing. I've had my J7 for about a year now without any issues. About 2 months ago I noticed the glass lens over the rear camera cracked (have no idea how) but the camera still worked so I wasn't worried about it.

But in the past few weeks the rear camera has stopped functioning and will not focus at all (at any distance). The viewfinder just shows a blurry image. I thought the issue had to be the lens, but after installing a new one I'm still having the issue.

I read tapping the rear camera can help it engage focus if it got stuck somehow, but I tried with no luck. Also someone mentioned turning off auto-focus but I do not see that setting in my camera app.

It's pretty terrible not having my rear camera working, can anyone help?

What do you mean by installing a new lens? Do you mean just the glass that lies over the actual lens, or the whole camera module?

My guess is that the camera module's autofocus mechanism has failed. If you didn't replace the whole module, that's probably what you'd have to do next. Not sure if that's worth the cost of repair, though.
