Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - How to change LED notifications

I checked the box in the settings to turn on the blue led for notifications. My only problem is that it seems to always be lighting up. Even when I don't have new email or text. Is there a way to change it to only light up for email and text messages? I have no idea why it's lighting up constantly.
