Hello, I just got my Note 3 like 2 weeks ago and I've noticed that when I go, for e.g to settings then on account I can see the back light on the lower half of the screen or when I hold the home button to see active apps it's the same.
I actually see the back light since the background is black or dark grey.

During the day it is not noticeable, but at night it is.

However, when I go to gallery which also has black background the back light doesn't appear there, it's pure black. When I watch movie also it doesn't appear or anything.

I was wondering if it's normal or is there something wrong with my screen.

Thank you in advance. :)

Can you post a photo demonstrating this?

The amoled screen shouldn't have back lighting...

Unfortunately I don't have a camera to take a picture right now. I'll try to get one tomorrow to put a sample of it here.
Well, I don't know if it's actually the back light, but when I go on , active apps, on the lower half of the screen, I can see the some sort of white light on the black background there.
If possible, check it out on yours if you see the same thing, make sure you are in a dark place else you won't notice it.

Thank you! :)

Okay, I kinda see what you mean. The background of setting->account is apparent not true black. So the screen does light up a bit.

It shouldn't be a problem

Yes, the apparent not true black. You can see the "white light" behind somewhat.
But, in gallery or black pictures it doesn't appear.

So, you see it on your device too??

Something resembling your issue happened to me the other day. When I stopped in a retailer to try the S Cover (?), it did the same thing because of the window on the cover. The odd thing is I didn't have the cover when it happened the first time.

Hello!
You also get that sort of "White light" appearing on your black background in your settings and stuffs like I've described above?
I'm a little bit worried about it.
Tell me if you see it, it's more visible when you're in a dark place, hold you home button then enter active apps. On the lower half of the screen tell me if you see it?

Thanks! :)

Yes, I see it. I have true black wallpaper, I can tell the background in the settings is not true black.

Thank you Clevin.
You really reassured me, I thought my device had a defect screen or something. :)
