Hi
I signed up and got my note 4 at BB. Technically I paid only $50. I want to cancel my service, keep the phone and pay the early termination fee but I couldn't find Best Buy policy on this. I lost my contract paper

Does anyone know?

Thanks

Re: Best Buy cancellation or early termination policy

You'll have to pay the ETC for your carrier plus the balance on the phone which retails for about $825 minus the $50 you paid

What? If he is paying an ETF it's $350 on Verizon or AT&T. Sprint I wouldn't know about

Yeah this is incorrect.

You'll just have to pay the termination fee for the carrier.

I almost feel like buying it on AT&T on contract and just pay the ETF lol. $250 for the phone and $350 for the ETF

If you're on a payment install plan (ie ATT next) then don't you have to pay off the phone in full now instead of the typical 350 price range?

I think what the guy above was trying to explain is, that you are still responsible for the payment of the phone, (assuming you went on next or edge and paid the $50 in taxes up front) the carrier will not allow you to keep the phone without either A: the monthly payments or B: the remaining balance on the phone ex. 799.99-50= 749.99. Not sure about the terms of a standard 2 year upgrade. I. Sure they might make you pay for the phone even then.

I got it on the 17th of October while the $200 trade-in promotion was still valid. In addition, BB also credited $50 bucks for BB reward member. So, I paid $50 + tax of $299.99 = total under $80 on a 2 years contract.

I'll try to find the contract from BB and if I only pay the ETF, then I'll pull the trigger :)

Op stated he paid $50 out of pocket for the phone thus he did a 2 year contract. The phone sales tax for me in Nyc which has a 8.875% sales tax makes the tax around $60 meaning he would of paid around $5-$15 out of pocket if he did AT&T next or etc. he did a 2 year contract thus $350 is the ETF so he would of paid $400 out of pocket for that device

I know that ...but since the ETF is $350 and the nexus 6 is only $250 on contract means it saves me money buying it that way lol

You were 100% correct!

I just cancelled it through AT&T and paid $315 ETF today. So, technically I paid less than $400 for this phone & no contract. The phone is mine :)

I also think thats correct. You'll just have to pay the termination fee for the carrier. Besides i wanna say, die aftersale service on BB is so unconvenient. And i have ever lost my package on it.
