Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Samsumg Pro 64gb SD Card

Hello All -

I finally got my sd card in the mail, but my question to you all is do I have to format it? There is an option to formatting under the storage setting. Also, excuse my ignorance, but what exactly does formatting do?

If you still haven't added any files to it yet formatting it through the settings is a good idea. But not required. Not everyone inserts a brand new SD card and formatting it wipes it to start fresh.
