Do you think that I need to consider an extra protective case or some special kind of case when getting one for a child? I want to but a case for a kid who is going to own a galaxy note 8 device (not my child) and I wonder what kind of case I should get.

All I could find are some silicon cases like this one, but I'm really not sure about its quality and protection level.

I would not go for a children's case and instead go for a child-proof case, maybe something like this UAG case

I'm curious about this one. Supposedly has edge to edge adhesive. Trying to wait for it

A Galaxy Note 8 for a kid???

Same here. For their first phone getting them a $930 device? If you're mega wealthy then I guess that's fine then. That's just crazy though. Get them an old S6 to use or something.

UAG or Otter box...Superior protection and kid friendly colors, either one is a must. My privileged friend's 10 year old has an S7 edge, which she took it upon herself to remove her case and of course, she dropped it while at a baseball game. To my surprise, the screen did not crack (covered with an IQ Liquid Shield) but the back cracked up pretty bad. She said "it was a free phone anyway". However, she doesn't understand why her mom won't get her another free phone. LoL, I took her to the local flea market and purchased a pretty pink "FAUX" OTTER BOX case for $10. With this rugged case on her cracked up phone, it's almost as good as new.

The only issues with the UAG is the corners seem to push my tempered glass screen protector off on one corner.

Uag cases tends to be tighter especially the Plasma. If you want to install a tempered glass, put the case in and paste the glass. Ensuring the 4 corners do not affect each other.

Though removal of the case is not recommended though..

Samsung has a whole line of inexpensive phones for children. I would not be getting a Note 8 for a child.
