Hello every1 I'm back! My previous post I was mentioning my last galaxy s had an sdcard failure & deleted all my media, photos, & more. So I got that solved by getting my galaxy replaced.

So I'm back with another issue, recently I was trying to connect my phone to my computer...it worked once and I got to look into my files. I tried reconnecting it because my pdaNET sometimes gets whacky and I have to replug once I lose connection, but this time it started not recognizing my phone saying UNKNOWN DEVICE, error 43. Id also get "the device your trying to install has malfunctioned..." . So annoyed I tried my friends laptop, it was saying the same thing, I tried my moms laptop & got the same issue.

I tried downloading the samsung galaxy s device drivers from softpedia and got nothing, I tried changing usb cables NOTHING...I tried restarting my phone & computers and got nothing! Mounting & unmounting my sd card..nothing. I'm running out of solutions, is there any1 that can help me? I also tried this with my moms phone b/c she has the exact same phone & I get the same error. Wuts going on o_O!

** I meant to put this post in sprint samsung epic 4g sorry if I double posted!

Re: samsung galaxy s 4g device malfunction on PC???

If you have installed any drivers just uninstall them. If you don't have any previous driver installations from the original connect, then get them from the samsung site. Make sure your "USB debugging" is checked and plug in again. Once the little Android comes up press the "Connect to PC". Sometimes it helps to install the drivers.
Hope this works, if not get back with your finidngs and someone will give you directions. Good luck!

Re: samsung galaxy s 4g device malfunction on PC???

Thanks I'm gonna give it shot by downloaded the drivers from samsung

I tried it and it didn't work. It says the driver is installed but phone is still being referred as an Uknown Device. When I look under device properties the error say "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"......

Change the cable. Do not use the cable that came with the phone's charger.

Try this:
In the dialer type in ##8778#
Switch the usb from modem to pda.

You can use a different cable; that is a good idea. But you should use the drivers from the Epic 4g page on the samsung website, which I have attached here.

The computer should start to recognize the device again.

I have 2 of these phones on my account, 1 worked, 1 didnt, so I KNEW it wasnt the computer and I did try multiple cords/sd cards/computer ... sprint told me to take my laptop and the phone into a store to show them it wouldnt work :'( (after 45 mins of trying to trouble shoot!)

THANKS AGAIN! :)
