Samsung Galaxy S2 or Lg Optimus 2x?

Which one are you opting for? Hdmi mirroring or 2.3 gingerbread out of the box?

SAMOLED plus, 2.3 and the Orion processor sealed the deal for me......Altho I like the button setup better for the LG.

Screen: S2 hands down
Processor: I've heard that the Orion was faster than Tegra 2
Software: Galaxy S2 wins
Software UPDATES: No comment on that
Cameras: pretty much the same but I doubt that a 0.7 more mp will make a difference on the front cam
Battery: As far as tech specs go, the S2 wins
RAM: I know that the S2 has 1gb but I'm not sure of how much the LG Optimus 2X has
Memory: S2 has more internal memory

Like other points other people have made, S2 doesn't have hdmi mirroring but the S2 does have 2.3 out of the box

Hdmi mirroring is the only feature keeping the Lg in my sights. May come down to which phone is available first......

I belive the 2X has 512, not 100% sure though.

As for which one to get....well, first off, I am with Sprint and I am sticking with Sprint, so it all depends on which phone they will get. Sprint has the Evo, the Epic, and the old Optimus, so something tells me that they might get top phones from the 3 big boys, without knowing what HTC brings to the table, I am not set on any of them yet, however, this time around I am leaning toward the S2 simply because of the SAMOLED+ screen. Last year I had no idea that we would get the Epic, so I was slightly disappointed in only having an Evo simply because of the Evos wussy 3d performance. This time around however, all 3 phones will have fast 3d performance, so I am looking elsewhere to help me make my final decision. I love the 4.3" screen, and I am glad that the S2 seems to have, at least so far, the complete package for me. And while I like Sense, something new is always nice. Buying another HTC device would just diminsh the new phone feel, since it will probably look and feel just like the Evo, just faster.

Time will tell.

If you look at the 1080p sample at gsmarena, the S2 looks super sharp whereas the Optimus 2x was blurrier. That is another thing to consider, since Samsung is known for their imaging. The bigger and superior screen needs no introduction, and most 2x reviews have complained about LG's lackluster software and UI performance. Subjectively, the 2x is very bland looking as well. The Atrix is a better comparison than the 2x against the S2.

I would take the s2 but that's just me and if you put it against the atrix I would still choose the s2 due to android having full use of the 1gig of ram on the s2 and I don't like Moto's stance on their bootloaders

Galaxy S 2 is more desirable for me because of these reasons:

Bigger screen
Better screen tech
Better Gpu power (quad core)
Probable better Camera quality
Android 2.3 out the box vs 2.2 out the box
Media Hub (I bought a movie on my Epic 4g)

Only thing that the 2x has that I wish the GS2 had is hdmi mirror. I'm hoping for some sort of tv-out outside of dlna though like the original galaxy s.

Production of the Orion proccessor is in very early stages so the SGS there was likely only running a 1ghz hummingbird or very early orion

So you gonna base your decision on a QUADRANT SCORE? Sorry , but this is the stupidest thing i ever heard.

1. Quadrant is just ONE benchmark program , and a really bad one. Fully relies on software and with some little weaks I could reach 3000 with my HD2 , also 2500 with Galaxy S. Second run boosts your score with 150/200 and after a factory reset the score is alot higher , nice program huh? >

2. This is a pre-production model , we dont even know if the final chip is in it , AND its also a test firmware , remember the optimus scored 1800 the first time it has been benched and later on 2300.

The Atrix is a better comparison than the 2x against the S2.

How did the Motor qHD display compare to the S2?

The Optimus 3D looks like an even better match against the S2 than the Optimus 2x. It also has a 4.3" screen, and 3D!!!!! The 2x has been supplanted at the top-end. But who knows when the 3D will be released. It kind of popped up out of nowhere at MWC.
