Really don't record videos and today I set the phone on a tripod to record something, and it STOPS recording after 5-20 seconds.
I have plenty of memory remaining and tried the lowest resolution. I don't see anything in the options for fixing this.
Android 14
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Does the display and the Camera app remain on, but the recording just stops? Or does the display turn off on its own, and when you turn it back on, you see that the Camera app has stopped? I'm trying to determine if the Camera app itself is stopping the recording for some reason, or if the system (or some 3rd party app) is killing the Camera app inappropriately.

The camera app does not go off, the display still shows but it has stopped recording.

Have you already tried basic tasks like restarting your phone and clearing the Camera app's cache? Assuming yes and this problem is still occurring, this is just a testing endeavor -- try installing this Op;en Camera app:
This is a very configurable third-party camera app so be sure to delve into the app's Settings menu to optimize it to your particular needs. Anyway, use it to record a video and see if that too quick cut-off problem happens with this app too. The issue being you've got two aspects to look into, the camera module (hardware) and the Camera app (software). This might be an indicator the problem is due to some setting with the installed, default Camera app.
(... also, you might want to Uninstall the Open Camera app now. Samsung's Camera app has a good reputation, and being Samsung's app it's functionally fully compatible with its proprietary camera module. Something third-party camera apps cannot by law utilize.)
Anyway, depending on the results of your test that will indicate what you need to focus on. Is it the Samsung Camera app or something with your S22 Plus? If the latter that also brings up a matter of your storage media. You stated there's plenty of free storage but did you change the default save folder in the app's Settings. Is the default save within the internal storage or a microSD card?

Just as an aside, this is a nice smartphone camera primer article:

I believe it is your settings. I had an issue that was very odd and I believe it was this, sorry it was something like 2 years ago, which would have made it on the S22, it turned out to be the resolution. I had it set to the highest quality or resolution and at that resolution the file size gets really big really fast and I believe that was why it was limited on time. Try changing the resolution or reducing the frame rate and test it again.

I don't have a moment at the moment but when I do I'll go back in my old posts and find it to say for sure, but I'm fairly confident this is your issue.
