Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 - broken mp4 file

Please help me. I filmed a video on my galaxy s3 and when I moved it from the camera folder to the video folder, it would no longer play. I have tried everything to get it back. I have moved it back, used MX player, tried it on my PC, tried tp convert the file to avi..absolutely nothing works. It's such an important video that I need for my dance training. Can I get it back somehow?

What app did you use to move the file?
Are you certain that the file extension is intact (i.e. the filename still ends in mp4)?
