Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini HELP?

Hi i have a Samsung galaxy s3 mini it is unlocked to any network but recently it has stopped getting signal. when a Sim is put in it recognizes the Sim as Vodafone or what ever Sim it is. the phone will not let you select the network carrier in the choose operator option in the settings it will just say each time "unable to connect" with a constant "emergency calls only" displayed the phone inst locked or switched off. when i try and make calls it says "not registered on network"

i have don't the following:
i have rooted the phone and upgraded the firmware to try and fix
i have reset the phone a number of times
tried every UK network Sim in the phone

the phone is no longer under warranty "reason for root"

the following is displayed in the about phone option

Network: unknown
signal strength: -107dbm 2 asu
service state: out of service
Roaming: out of roaming

running android 4.1.2


any help will be great thanks

Have you tried the SIM in another device? Is the SIM card active on your number?

Seems like the imei could be blocked.....or the Sim slot is bad.... Don't really know.
