Samsung galaxy s3 mini trouble

A

AC Question

I have a Samsung galaxy s3 mini, and I've had quite some trouble with it. First, it would never charge properly, and now it won't even turn on after it ran out of battery. Possibly cause I dropped it to the ground (something I've done a lot, accidentaly, without furthermore consequenses. But now the charging symbol won't show, the screen has a stripe across when I try to restart. But it vibrates, and the buttons to the left and right of the homebutton will light up.

I've already tried to remove the battery, keep the battery out, to press the start-button, but it won't work.

Welcome to Android Central! The first thing to try is a new battery, since that phone is pretty old. If it's the original battery, there's a good chance it's dead or dying.

If a new battery doesn't help, then all of the trauma it's experienced might have finally taken its toll. The charging port might be damaged, or it might be something deeper on the motherboard. The screen itself might be damaged as well, based on what you describe.
