Samsung Galaxy S4 connection problem

I recently bought a Galaxy s4 and tried to connect through WiFi. I continues to say "obtaining IP address" , but times out because of "slow connection" Is there somebody who can help me rectify this?

Mine seems to be ok. What kind of security are you using on your wireless network?
