Samsung Galaxy S4 not charging/charging EXTREMELY slow

So a few weeks ago my samsung s4 suddenly stopped charging as normal? the red LED light didnt come on when i plugged in the charger, I have tried multiple chargers, no use. Also when I turn the handset off it come ups grey battery indicating empty battery and vibrates every 10-15 seconds, although it was charging to 100% overnight. The past couple of days it was charging as normal but wasn't alerting me it was but I could see the battery going up and up, then yesterday it started charging 1% every 30 mins if I am lucky. Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this? I really cannot be fussed sending it away to insurance.

Updated the software, and reset the handset also, but no help.

I have the exact same problem! I don't know what to do with it. At first I thought about getting rid of the stock to put a custom ROM
but even USB isn't recognized.

If it is less than a year old take it back under warranty. Add long as there is no liquid damage they send you another one.
