Samsung Galaxy s4 suddenly dies, even while charging

So this problem I think is different than the famous battery responsible problem of the phone suddenly dying even while it still claims to have 40% or whatever.

It seems that the problem is happening when I touch the power button once lightly, which normally turns the screen off- which I do often (in my attempt to save battery life by making the screen go dark). I press the power button once, mind you I don't hold it down- and then the effect of holding it down happens, the "shut down/restart" menu pops up. Then suddenly with my choosing anything (or even if I cancel the pop up) the phone just suddenly dies. Trying to turn it on doesn't work. Charging it to a non-Samsung cable/or Samsung cable doesn't work. It gives the "battery charging" icon for a short moment and the BAM turns off again. Remove and reinsert battery, same thing- icon shows for a moment, then off again. It can't be the battery as I just recently bought this one from a Samsung service center and the same problem happens if I put in my old, warped battery.

After a while (an unspecified amount of time, always different) it is able to be turned on (if I push it)... so of course I just spend the rest of that unspecified amount of time being driven crazy and holding it down repeatedly (not always, I'm exaggerating). I bought the phone in USA and live in Indonesia so apparently the Samsung center here can't help me. So other than when the gods determine that I may turn my phone back on again, it's up you all to help me out.

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like it could be a faulty power button/circuitry. Replacing it might solve the problem.
