Samsung Galaxy S5 Water Damage/Warranty Question

I dropped my phone in the toilet and wondering if I can get warranty/what my odds are of it working again.

I attempted to turn it on after I took it out of the water and dried it off. Currently, it will turn on but the screen is flickering different colors and is pretty much unusable. After this I put it next to a heater and now it's in a bag of rice where I'll leave it overnight.

I realize the phone should have been able to withstand being dropped in the toilet but there are a couple things that should be noted:
1. The phone's screen was cracked, no open holes, but was pretty badly cracked.
2. The phone's screen had previously been replaced (not by Samsung, I took it to a repair man) after I dropped and cracked it.

I realize I probably should not have turned it on right away. Any insight folks?

Gone say one thing don't use rice...there is a whole write up on here how one should try and save water damage phone, do a search on the forum it's all here.
