I just bought my S6 on AT&T. Is there a favorite contacts widget? I had one on my S5 and I swore that Nova Launcher had one, yet I can't find this widget neither on the phone nor on Nova. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Favorite Contacts Widget

No, Samsung removed the widget and replaced it with a Direct Dial widget for some unknown flippin reason. You have to set up each contact one by one and then you can place them into a folder if you wish. That's what I did....one folder for co-workers and one folder for family.

Ok thanks. That sucks. Also one more thing I've noticed and I don't know if this is S6 related or AT&T related. When I text my bank for transactions, balance, etc the messgae isn't threaded. The reply comes in a new text thread. So far it seems that my bank is the only one like this. Any ideas

My bank does this also. It's a safety feature.

Ugh that sucks too lol. I didn't have that issue on the S5.

I use a credit union and when i text to have my balance sent to me via text, it creates a new thread. This also happened with my iPhone 6, note 3 and 4. I feel your pain!

How do I find the Direct Dial widget? I found the Contact widget and say up my favorites individually and then put them in a folder but it's cumbersome. I'm on Sprint, if that makes a difference.

There's a widget called Contacts+ that'll do the job.

Its weird, but after a few times, it now stays in the same thread. Hopefully it stays that way. I'm with a credit union too

I had a widget for a Favorites contact but accidentally deleted it. In Settings select Help. Click on Help, and then select Useful Tips. Scroll to Customizing Your Device. Choose Adding Widget or Application Shortcuts. The instructions for adding a widget are: Press and hold an empty space on the home screen. Select the Widgets option at the bottom of the screen. Contact is one of the options. You can choose a contact's entire info, just the phone number using Direct Dial which immediately places the call or just the email. It sends you to your list of contacts where you can scroll down to the contact you want to place on your home screen.
