Samsung Galaxy S6 Verizon Release April 17

I stopped by today at a local Best Buy store to check out the new S6 and S6 Edge and was told by the Samsung Experience Rep that Verizon is not only late to the pre-order party but will also not launch on April 10th but rather on April 17th. I am taking this with a rather large grain of salt but just thought I'd share and see if anyone else has asked the same question. Doesn't seem out of the norm for Verizon and I always thought the delayed pre-order could mean something.

I'm on my way to Best Buy right now, I'll definitely ask. I may head by Verizon and ask them too.

Well I read Verizon doesn't start taking pre orders until the April 1st so the 17th release sounds reasonable as far as Verizon is concerned.

I'm at Best Buy right now. The Samsung rep is telling me that Verizon pre orders will go live some time today. I really hope that this is true.

Well Verizon announced a long time ago that they would begin pre-orders on April 1st so I'm not sure I would believe that guy

I know, I've heard that too. I was just relaying what the rep said to me. I really hate when they can't get their information correct... One person says this, the next person says something completely different.

The Samsung rep I spoke with today also told me it would be on April 1st, so maybe the rep you spoke with was misinformed. I see too many sites reporting the April 1st pre-order date also, so its hard to believe that it would be another date.

As for the week later release on Verizon, I guess its not too surprising since they are starting their pre-orders later than everyone else. Its a bit disappointing honestly, but nothing killer.

Maybe Verizon and Samsung aren't getting along anymore. Verizon doesn't like people getting big enough to push them around.

Well best buy allowed pre-orders today. I would highly doubt Verizon would release their phones a whole week later than other carriers. That's a lot of business to lose.

I pre-ordered my Verizon S6 64g this afternoon, BB folks and the Samsung person both said release date is April 10th. Our Verizon corporate store folks told me pre-orders start April 1st and they are not happy about it either with BB starting today.

I mean if we're going to just go by what Best Buy reps are telling us, mine told me that they were getting the phones in next Wednesday lol. Who knows, maybe he's right and they just have to sit on them until the 10th. T-mobile people have shipping notices with deliveries as early as Monday and one person even got his already.
