bad reception = battery drain
True but why is that much of a problem with this phone, I have a htc one m8 and a Sony M4 aqua and I get nothing like this.
Also LG G3 was fine and so was Note 4 plus other phones I had with my provider, nothing has changed except the phone.

Also at my work reception is basically the same the only difference is that I'm not on WiFi only LTE plus the cell standby does not even show up but is on right now at 1% at my house with WiFi on....so i find this odd.

but you have over 5 hrs of screen time which is very good.
if you need more standby you will need to reduce usage.
for me i think its probably something to do with having data on.
for example if i keep data off all day when i'm out my battery will only go down to about 80% until 7pm when i get home.
so i could have more than 3 days stand by if i keep data off
try keeping data off for a day and see how it goes
the signal strength will be the same its just using more power when data is on
and it will probably use even more power when data is on and bad reception.

That would definitely work but defeats the idea of having a smart phone.
Well I had an update and it has improved my battery a bit plus cellphone standby has mostly disappeared at most 2% use.
