Samsung galaxy sIII randomly turning on data

My galaxy will randomly turn on my data, sometimes when I've already got wifi turned on or in the middle of the night. How can I keep it so my data is only on when I manually turn it on?

Pull-down the Notification bar, and turn Mobile Data off.

Settings -> Connections (if using the Tab view) -> Data usage -> Menu button -> Restrict background data
You could also uncheck 'Auto sync data' while you're there.
