samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1

My Samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 keeps turning on and off , then starts over and keeps turning on and off, I can't access it at all cause it turns on and off constantly until it runs out of battery, then does the same thing again. What do I do?

could try booting into recovery on one of the boot ups by holding down volume (down?) possible volume up, and doing a factory reset from there.
