I purchased a pair of bt headphones to listen to music/watch videos etc on my tab 3 8.0. They pair up and supposedly connect fine. The device reconizes them and all just fine. My problem is the device apparently only sees them as an earpeice for phone calls only. It wont change the audio output to bluetooth, all sound still comes out of speakers however when I try to listen to a song in the music player it says can not play during a call or something like that. I do have media checked in bt settings and phone unchecked. The headphones are capable of media because they work fine on my sgt 2 10.1 and my galaxy players 3.6, 4.0 and 5.0.
for a moment last night when I was surfing the internet all of the sudden the audio changed to the bt headset and all system sounds etc worked through headphones including music out of nowhere. Once shut off and turned back on again they dont work again. Also a phone volume appears in the volume menu (menu that pops up when you change volume with the rocker)when they are hooked up and refuses to play media, but for
moment that they worked that changed to a bluetooth emblem. Can anybody help me please? Thanks.

Problem fixed. The text plus app was not allowing the bluetooth settings to switch into media mode. Even though media was checked it saw the headphones as a phone call only earpiece. Uninstalled and now all is good. Just posting to get the info out there.

do u know if u can still use text plus ....with the Bluetooth earphones ...cuz i use text+ all the time with my tablet (samsung tab 2) ?
or it there a app simular to text plus that i can use instead? so i can use the blue tooth earphones?

I have tried the bt headphones on a tab 2 10.1 with text plus and they worked fine! I think this is an issue with ONLY the tab 3 8.0. If you have an 8.0 then the headphones probably won't work with text plus installed. Heywire is another texting app in the play store. I actually like it better than text plus and have had no compatibility issues with it at all.

I am having trouble with my head phones I plug*them in and no sound comes out how do I fix this

Try pushing a little more just to make sure the plug is fully inserted in the jack. Sometimes the jack can be a little "tight" and needs a little more force. If its not that the try to clean out the jack with a toothpick or compressed air (sometimes a little debris gets in there and messes up the connection). Also make sure the plug on the headphones is not bent at all. That too can affect it. Other than that if it still doesn't work it is probably a hardware issue.

Edit: just realized that I was a little late on this post. How did it turn out?

Can you please be more specific about uninstalling this text plus application. Im having the same problem(cannot play music through bluetooth headphone) but did not see any "text plus" application to uninstall
.... please help

it is a third party app from the Google play store. it is only installed on your device if YOU installed it. it does not come installed on the device.
