Samsung Gear S2 Help

So I got the Samsung Gear S2 and I thought I was going to be able to make phone calls and talk on on the wach itself. I have Sprint for my carrier. I cannot do that though...so I thought. I talked to one guy who has the same watch as me (although the face of the watch looked bigger) and he said he can make calls, etc on it and he could even leave his reg phone at home and still be able to make calls and receive calls and text on his watch (now he said his watch has a totally different phone number than his phone does.....?) My question is, do I have the wrong gear s2? Theres the gear s2 and gear s2 classic. If someone could clarify for me and let me know what i need to do to be able to make calls and talk on my watch. There is also the Gear S2 3G model, this is the one you need. There is supposed to be a 3G classic model coming out sometime as well.

The 3G models use a sim card and can make phone calls. The regular S2 models do not have a speaker or ability to insert a sim.
