Samsung Gear S3 Accidental Button Press

Hi

I have a new gear s3. I'm having some issues when I use it cycling.

The first is tracking. Quite often the GPS signal hangs even when I'm in an open area. When I get home and check the map there are then some random 2 mile extra lines added over houses etc but never near the area you are.

The other big issue is when you go for a cycle and rotate your wrist like when you stand up off the seat, the watch hits your hand and quite often the buttons on the right get pressed or even get held down pressed against my hand causing the watch to restart.

Has anyone any suggestions to fix these errors? Ideally would be great having to lock buttons during exercise

Thanks

Not sure about the GPS map issue unless the accidental button push is affecting that, my maps are very accurate and I enjoy checking them when I get home, I'm a runner and don't carry my phone but the map updates within a short minute once I'm around my phone again.
Good luck with your issue I really enjoy the watch, I do need to replace the factory watch band I find the silicone makes me sweat too much.
But a minor issue compared.

If you can't cure the button problem you could carry it some place like your pocket. Admittedly, not an elegant solution.

Thanks for replies. Interesting on GPS. I dont carry phone either and was one of reasons I picked the s3. I wonder if its more accurate as you run at slower speeds than cycling?

I would need the watch visible somewhere so I can check progress and also make sure it is still tracking - on one cycle it had lost GPS and wasn't tracking anything other than time and my heart beat.

On the button issue the other option is to wear the watch on my right arm as button will face up my arm and won't be pressed. Again not ideal as not as comfortable and easy to control as on my left.

Maybe put it on your right hand while riding? That would help with the button issue.

This may sound silly, but make sure the watch is above your wrist. It is not designed to be worn below the wrist, right up next to the back of your hand. I rode around the neighborhood today and didn't have any accidental button pushes.
