I typically take my phone when I run. Samsung health is set up to automatically detect work outs.

Now with the watch, it defaults to the watch and will not record on my phone. I went into the settings on my watch to not automatically detect workouts.

I know, small world problems. But, this is annoying. I have to then either restart my phone or uninstall Samsung Health on my phone and then reinstall for my phone to auto detect my workouts again.

Basically, I want my phone to auto detect my workouts, not my watch. Like I said, I turned auto detect off on my watch

Thanks for any help provided

This is strange as this is not how it is working for me. The watch detects the workout and then will sync that data to the phone. Therefore, when I look at the exercise data on the phone, it actually indicates the workout recorded is from my watch.

I know in the older versions of Samsung Health, your phone and watch will all keep separate data, and you could set it so that it matches and combines it together (not sure if that is still an option). This was handy if for whatever reason you don't have your watch but only your phone.

But I didn't do anything special this time around with the new Watch 5 Pro and my Samsung Health on my phone. It seems to just detect on my watch and then automatically sends it to my phone.
