In my thread on another forum, here, I began announcing the latest Lollipop, Android 5.*, releases for the mainline Samsung Galaxy S5 models as described in #1.3, #1.4, #1.5 and #1.6 of the 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide.

Over the last few weeks the number of Lollipop updates from Samsung has diminished as they gear up for the launch of Marshmallow, Android 6.0.1. See, here.

The thread, when read in conjunction with 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide shows Samsung's dedication in updating their firmware with enhancements, bug fixes and security updates and demonstrates their commitment to the Galaxy S5. It also offers an insight into which models receive frequent updates and which ones lag behind, (no comment!). My own worldwide, international, model, G900F, unbranded for the United Kingdom has received no less than 8 updates for Lollipop... or about 1 every 6 weeks, before moving on to Marshmallow.

If nothing else, the thread has stopped all those posters who say that Samsung do not offer updates and do not care.

By my count, the number of Lollipop releases in about a year for the models mentioned in paragraph #1, is... 914

I hope they will release the 6.1 instead of 6.0.1 for the SM-G900H cause i know when 6.1 comes out, if the SM-G900H already received the 6.0.1, no chance samsung will update it to 6.1.

My SM-G900H only received 2 update from 4.4.2 to 5.0 and 1 very small update from 5.0 to 5.0 that only includes smart manager. It sure is nice to get 1 update every 6 weeks rather than 1 update every 8 months on the SM-G900H.

I feel for you Tech-Newb!

Samsung released, as they did with the S2, S3 and S4, the, "H", type version that is non 4G/LTE and runs on Samsung's own Exynos chip to cut costs for them, and is a lower cost, budget model, . The phone is designed for emerging markets or ones where 4G/LTE was not important or available. As per #1.3 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide, updates for this model are always less frequent than the, "F", model. As you have mentioned, some, "H", models have only received 2 Lollipop updates whilst others, (Argentina, unbranded ARO), have had 5 and others, only 1.

Im sure samsung will treat the exynos version of S7 as the way they treat their exynos version phones over the last years. I hope samsung learn "equality" soon.

I dislike how they treat the lower priced model of their phones very diffrently againts the higher priced even if the diffrence is only 50$

Not to worry Tech-Newb, the Galaxy S6 models had the octa core Exynos chips so, AFAIK, there is no, "H", type, non 4G/LTE, model. So, it would seem that they have abandoned the, "H", type models.
